Application: ISO-6 Cleanroom System with Buffer VestibuleISO-6 Cleanroom System with Buffer Vestibule

Size: 20’ x 28’ x 18’ high with an 8’ x 13’ Gown Room and 10’ x 12’ Buffer Room

Requirements and details:

The purpose of this custom cleanroom system was to provide a critical high bay environment for multiple divisions of the US defense departments to accelerate the delivery of combat-ready tools to the warfighter by seamlessly integrating digital and physical assets into an agile and innovative hands-on Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E).

This multi-use cleanroom provides an 18’H ceiling for large and small applications while providing a laminar flow of HEPA filtered air from the ceiling and re-circulated through low wall return registers providing a closed loop system.

An ISO-6 Buffer Vestibule was also included so large items can be wiped down before entering the main cleanroom area.

The gown room provided plenty of space for personnel and storage, and a wall mount pass-through chamber to the main cleanroom with interlocking doors was also included for transfer of smaller parts and materials.

To ensure room recovery time was minimal, a vinyl Hi-speed roll up door was included with LED sensors that allowed the door to dis-engage if blocked with push button operation from both sides for ease of use.

A load bearing roof platform with safety railing and access ladder was provided for ease of mechanical maintenance.

The High-Performance DOAS (dedicated outside air system) packaged unit was integrated with a humidifier to ensure specific temperature and humidity control to meet various testing requirements.

To ensure all HEPA units perform at optimal requirements an ACS (automated control system) was included with a second remote view only monitor so staff can easily be notified on room performance. A light tower was also included inside and outside the cleanroom as a secondary precaution should the system loose pressure or in the event of a power disruption. Room side replaceable (RSR) filter packs were provided to ensure ease of exchange without disturbing the environment for certification and validation purposes. De-ionizing bars were also mounted to the grills of the HEPA units to neutralize ions.

Compressed air lines were outfitted in the walls and ceilings with quick-disconnect fittings for ease of operation.

To finish off the floor an epoxy coating system was laid down with safety striping to ensure a long-lasting durable surface.

Fire sprinklers were dropped into the new cleanroom with flush heads to ensure a positive seal and meet NFPA requirements.
