Dry Rooms

Dry room chambers utilize a controlled environmental space that limits the number of particles found within the confines of the room, with the added beneficial design concepts of a cleanroom. In addition to providing a regulated environment, dry labs also strictly limit the room’s temperature and moisture levels. These variable climate controls are ideal for products sensitive to moisture and varying climates and those that require low humidity levels.

Dry room labs from Cleanrooms By United are manufactured to stringent industry requirements, providing ISO certification standards that meet or exceed your project specifications. Dry room considerations include structural rigidity, electrical capacities, and mechanical systems.

Differentiating Dry Rooms & Wet Rooms

Several differences separate dry rooms from wet rooms. These variations provide a suitable environment for the application requirements of each room type. For example, wet rooms are often used for manipulating liquids, biological matter, or chemicals, while dry rooms are more focused on engineering, computation, or physics.

The main difference that separates a wet room from a dry space is the physical parameters within the room. A dry room will incorporate a low humidity environment, while a wet room will utilize higher humidity levels. Both room styles use varying temperature fluctuations depending on the application requirements.

Dry Room Air & Filtration Requirements

Dry lab cleanrooms are available in several classifications for ISO 5 (Class 100)ISO 6 (Class 1000)ISO 7 (Class 10,000), and ISO 8 (Class 100,000). Air exchange rate (ACR) and filtration determine clean room classification factors. An ISO 5 cleanroom, for example, requires more filtration and higher airflow rates than an ISO 8 cleanroom.

Modular Dry Room Design Features

Our modular dry room chambers meet ISO 14644-1 requirements and are available in ISO Class 5 through ISO Class 9 classifications. All modular dry lab cleanrooms include a grid ceiling with hard-sided or soft-sided walls. Our hard wall cleanrooms come with the option to add windows, doors, and pass-throughs based on your design.

Other available cleanroom standard features include:

  • Vinyl finished 4” insulated wall system for thermal superior thermal control and easy cleaning (optional FRP wall finish)
  • Non-outgassing materials for compliance with cleanroom standards
  • Temperature and humidity control
  • HEPA or ULPA filtration
  • Single-pass or recirculating airflow system
  • Temp and RH Monitoring systems
